Pa1000 vs Pa3x
I have a PA3x and am considering changing to a Pa1000
Would love to hear a comparison of
- On board styles and sounds
- Ability to load on additional sampled sounds
- Functionality and features
- Size and weight
- Any other comments

As I've written in Pa4X section , regardless of obvious new OS extra features , better 24b DAC and 44Mb extra
Ram space pros , the fact of 2 lacking features , Fill tabs and EC5 port , automatically downgrades this arranger
to Pa900 amateur category ...

The pa3x pros- Has better(and possibly more) keys, Fill buttons, ec5 port, 4 outputs, xlr input, better vocal effects, midi through, Ribbon controller, Sliders, more buttons, more space
Pa1000 Pros- bigger buttons, rubber buttons, better screen, updated sounds, more portable, speakers, Built in guitar effects, KAOSS, looks more sleek
this is all I could think of offhand

Deora, I'm in the same boat.
Before I make my decision, I want to test the PA1000, but I do think I'll probably end up buying one.
PA4X is too expensive for me, and PA1000 is in many respects a step up from PA3X.
With all the newest Korg technology and most recent style compatibility this is almost a no brainer to me.
I've done some research and the price in the Netherlands will be below 2000 euro.
Still a lot of money, but waaaay less then PA4X.
I almost can't wait till the end of november, when it will be available in Dutch stores.
I'm looking forward to play this new toy (I'm a hobbyist, not a pro).

If anyone has any clue...how would the PA1000 pair to the older PA800, 1X
or even before that the PA80...since it is a lower level model then the PA3,4X?
In the other news, the PA1000 has no FillIn buttons? Come again?

The sounds are probably going to kick the pa800, etc. If you think the fill buttons, weighted keys, sliders, 76 keys, etc. are more important than sound......Its your call. Also the pa1000 has a lot of fetures that the old keyboard don't have: KAOSS, colored screen, better screen, more fills, more memory, DNC, more/better effects, etc...... But in the end of the day its about what suits your needs better
Agree with you Frans.Fransman wrote:Deora, I'm in the same boat.

I've been considering the Pa4x ever since it came out, but I just can't afford it. I've had the Pa900 for 3 years now, and I'm thinking of buying the Pa1000.
I wonder when it will be available in Romania.
Can't wait!

The Pa900 doesn't have fill buttons either. Would be nice to have, but I got used to the 2 button press for selecting fills.Korg Fan #1 wrote:The sounds are probably going to kick the pa800, etc. If you think the fill buttons, weighted keys, sliders, 76 keys, etc. are more important than sound......Its your call. Then surely go for a Pa1000 !alina wrote:I got used to the 2 button press for selecting fills.
For complex performing , the fact of using 2 buttons for a fill is too much to caught up the manipulation of a real time
played song when simultaneously STS/KBD SET and Variation buttons must be also pressed in a very short time period
not to mention the "bridge" of song's notes that must be played at this time !
"One man band" users like me , know exactly what do I mean !
Pa1000 is targeting mostly Pa600/900 users and thisalina wrote:I've been considering the Pa4x ever since it came out, but I just can't afford it. I've had the Pa900

will be a major upgrade for them that is close to Pa4X features.
Pa3X users definitely could afford its price , so their first upgrade option is Pa4X !
Equation of topic's title is simple : Pa4X vs Pa1000 = Pa3X vs Pa900

I wanted the Pa3X in 2014, but ended up with the Pa900. So this time it will be the same.

So Professional Arranger 1000 is only good enough for amateurs...
Maybe Korg should rename the lower keyboards AA instead of PA then.
The price of PA4X has even gone up in recent months; it's now 3.599 euro without the PAas. It was about 3.200 euro ever since it's launch.
(some extra cashing for Version 2 maybe?).
PA1000 is now targeted at 1.999 euros by some stores.
The distributor in the Netherlands has confirmed me that price target.
So price difference is 1.600 (!) euro and even more if you also (need to) buy a PAas speaker with it (or other speakers).
That is a huge price difference. You could easily add a high end extra like for instance a Roland Integra to your set up and still keep some money in your pocket...

It will probably be available as soon as the rest of Europe will have it. The first "sample" batch went out, but the commercial availability is end of September it seems. As always with new models the first production batches are calibrated and will dictate the next ones depending on the preorders.

... and then I went to a store, played on a PA4X with OS V2 and instantly fell in love with it.
Bought a brand new one, installed it in my home and will enjoy it every minute from now on.
This instrument is soooo good and even way better than I expected.
I think I would have been OK with PA1000 also, but having had a PA3X, I'v got used to the quality of materials and keys.
Awesome, I don't think I will regret my (expensive) purchase.
