Still cannot play Radias over USB (Mac): SOLVED

Post by Panason »

After installing the latest KORG USB MIDI driver on my Mac, I still cannot use USB to play the Radias. The only USB port from the Radias that the Mac software will see is labelled "RADIAS (Update) DUMP".
On Windows there is a way to change that but not on Mac. Any solutions??
I of course have set the Radias to USB routing on the Global page....
I already manually removed and re-installed the driver.
thanks

Wow, I finally fixed the issue!
I disconnected the Radias from the Mac, went to Audio MIDI Setup utility, opened the MIDI window and deleted the "Radias (Update)" device there as well as the Korg Taktile device that was there (because I had been using a Taktile keyboard). I then reconnected the Radias to the Mac and a new device appeared called "RADIAS #2" . Now I can play the Radias over USB by selecting the "RADIAS : Sound" port in whatever software I'm using.

This problem -which I've also read about from people on Windows systems -is because of Korg's terrible USB MIDI implementation (why the multiple virtual ports?) and equally terrible user guides and UI. The Mac Sound Editor is still not recognizing the Radias and the UI design on this app is truly sad.
