I’ll try to explain.
I go to the Sound section on my 4X and choose a guitar. With that sound, I can use the joystick to bend the sound up or down by moving the joystick left or right.
But when I choose style play, and then choose that same guitar, I’m no longer able to use the joystick to bend the sound. In other words, moving the joystick left to right(in style play)has no effect on the guitar.
If I go back to Sound play, the joystick works again. I can bend the sound.
Thoughts?

The problem relates to fact that in Style mode, you have 3 upper voices - how does the Pa4X know which one you want to apply the joystick to?
Now I am not sure of this, but try slotting the guitar in UP1, which I think has priority.

I believe the Joystick settings are saved within the Keyboard Set in any Style so you may have to edit them.
You may get what you need from the manual page 813, Section 46 Hand Controllers/Programming the Joystick

you can modify this in the keyboard set that you use in your style. there you can select for each upper and lower sound if it should react to the joystick or damper pedal
to do this follow the next steps:
- select the style
- select your keyboard set (or change the upper and lower sounds to your liking)
- go to the Keyboard/Ensemble > joystick / pedal page
- there you see checkboxes for the joystick and pedal.
- activate it for the sounds you want to use with the joystick
that's all
now you have two choices:
1: you can save the style with the current settings (overwrite or as a new one)
2: save your current upper and lower sounds as a keyboard set so that you can use it also this way in other styles.
