Korg Concert C-50 - replacing the lithium battery

Post by 64ironhead »

Hello,

The lithium battery in this C-50 is the original one - I bought this C-50 in the early 1990s. I've replaced the lithium batter in my Korg X3 but want to do this to my C-50 since it's at least 24 years old. Not bad for a CR2032 lithium battery life, eh?!

I found the Korg Service manual which includes multiple Concert models including the C-50. What it doesn't provide is the steps on what cover needs to come off first, etc. to get to the logic card containing the battery. No help anywhere on youtube or other sites on the internet.

My question is - has any one opened up one of the Concert pianos before and can provide some guidance for me? Do I need to remove the pedestal off and then remove the cover underneath the unit (like the X3) or can I get to it from the top?
Thanks,
