Need Help please? Trinity OS 2.4.1 update

Post by Angelsbridge »

I have a Korg Trinity V3 Pro X 88 which when I got it did not have the HDR or moss installed.
I had a Solo board from a previous Trinity which I fitted to the V3.

I now need to downgrade the OS from version 3 to 2.4.1 in order to use the solo board.

Problem I am having is getting a disk image to mount to a floppy I have downloaed images from Korg and tried to make these disks on numerous computers and operating systems from mac osx, mac os9 with disk image, windows xp with winimage, windows 10.

Cant seem to do it with anything, driving me crazy. I must be missing something here.

Has anyone got the correct 2.4.1 image files (in case the ones I have are corrupt or something) and explain the way to mount them, or even the image files already on floppys I could use???? Desperate for help please?

Im in Wigan, UK

The v3.11 update uses the img2dsk.exe utility on a PC to extract the img file onto the floppy, but may well be applicable to lower versions.

The batch files contain:

format a: /u
img2dsk v311_1.img

and

format a: /u
img2dsk v311_2.img

for each of the img files.

Note that the /u switch (unconditional) is not present on more recent DOS versions, so may throw errors.

There is a set of v2.4.1 disks on sale on eBay at the moment, in case the img2dsk utility that comes with 3.1.1 doesn't work:

Thanks for the info.
Trinity was already version 3.0.0 needed 2.4.1 so solo board would work.

Finally managed to sort it using an old laptop on windows XP and some .bat files with the images. Worked a treat but was a lot of head scratching for sure.
