Controlling pa4x with Roland rd2000

Post by pa4xfan »

Hello guys, Finally got the 76 keys pa4x oriental. Love it , been busy playing and exploring styles. Even though I like the key action, I want to play pa4x with my Roland rd 2000 pha 50. What is proper procedure to play pa4x with an external midi controller? Midi out from rd 2000 to midi in of pa4x? What settings should I change in pa4x global? Please help.

I would like to use my Roland rd 2000 88 keys weighted action to control pa4x via midi. Can I have detail instructions to connect this? Midi out from rd 2000 to midi in of pa4x by midi cable? Should I change anything in pa4x global settings? I want to trigger notes and chords from Roland rd2000 instead of korg pa4x. Everything else like changing variation, changing fills, start/stop, touch screen I want to use korg pa4x. Please help. Thank you.

...you can achieve this with a MIDI cable and a few simple settings....
pages 878 and 879 in the latest PA4X user manual will answer your questions.

RD2000-MIDI-OUT to PA4X-MIDI-IN and then set the MIDI channel on both (to match) as per the manual.

Cheers

Thanks Pete. I've somewhat figured it out.
