Taktile Triton Pad assignment

Is it possible to program the pads to specific cord across multiple octaves? I want to play cord in a live setting and can limit the total number of cord to suit the 8 pads.
I tried assigning through Korg Kontrol but find must be missing some thing cause the assignments don't seem to take.
