No space available on medium

Post by Oboemd »

When trying to save song " No space available on medium" appears despite having at least 1 Gig on internal drive. Same message appears when trying to save to flash or external SSD. Any ideas?

talk more about your Kronos

If you have the 2015 Kronos, or the current Kronos , the factory SSD is 60 GB.

So you have used/saved 59 GB ?

I have 1st generation Kronos with 30 gb ssd. I have several expanions. I disabled load of expansion libraries on startup which increased the amount of available space on ssd, still same message even though it is a realtively small file.
*I really misspoke here, I do know better lol. Not loading samples obviously does not make more room on internal drive smdh...
I did however copy/paste large files from internal drive to external drive, and then delete from internal. Still same message when triying to save a specific song to internal or Korg formatted external drive.

Not clear how you ' disabled ' the expansion libs.

If you went to Global/KSC Auto Load and unchecked the boxes , that action stops the expansion libs from being available in Preload.

IOW, the expansion libs are still on SSD. And I thought your issue was connected with SSD storage

You are correct- SNG files are a small size. It should be easy to save a SNG file.

My guess is you need to go to DISK and review if you need to clean/archive files
you don't immediately need to stream from SSD.

FYI, I have the 1st Gen K, too. The factory SSD is 27 GB.

If you are sure your factory SSD is close to full, its time to think about
adding a 2nd SSD. A 100 GB SSD is inexpensive. And its easier to install
a 2nd SSD on our K's vs an install on the newer Kronos.

Disabling KSC files from loading you do not alter SSD free space , only Ram free space , since EXs are always installed in
SSD consuming space.
The only way to save space from SSD is uninstalling Korg Store EXs libraries.

My friend, that happened to me, especially because of the use of sequences, I had to erase the wav files that I had saved in the Kronos and only leaving the ones that Kronos himself did.
In the end, I had to make the decision to buy a new SSD 500 GB and problem turned out.
I hope to help
