Custom Multisamples Question

I have a multisample set loaded and its working but when I hit a key I have to hold it down for it to play the whole sample. I can enable the Hold setting to fix this but then if I hit the key again another sample triggers. How can I hit a key to trigger the whole sample and they hit the same key again to stop it?
