Korg Pa Arranger Styles List Database (NEW version v2.0)

Post by lorenovax »

Hi everyone,
After downloading many style sets i have some management problems...
- where to store the list of all the styles I want to manage?
- I want to create a set of custom styles, how to avoid duplicating styles?
- where is the style I would like to include in a set?

I need a database to store a list of all the collected styles, including the factory styles of the various arrangers.
I used Excel because many users can easily add data and customize it...
I want the application to be able to rearrange and filter the views, based on some attributes:
- Style name
- Style type
- Midi data for controller
- Page location (P1, P2, etc..)
- Where the style comes from (ex: if is part of a factory content)

Thanks to tom04' application "KORG_PA_STYLE_LISTER"
I exported in excel format the list of all styles banks provided by Korg Bonusware and imported into my application.
Subsequently I have imported, from the Korg data list, the factory styles bank of the main arrangers.
The result is a Database for managing and creating customized User sets.

Usually Korg does not create different styles with the same name.
This should also apply to user styles.
My personal advice: if you change a factory style, change the style name and add your own identification prefix,
this reduces confusion and makes it easier to identify your custom styles ...
Thanks to this application I was able to find that there are some differences between the names of the styles contained in the factory files,
and those listed in the original Korg pdf manuals.

In the current version I have included factory styles list from the following devices: microArranger, Pa700, Pa1000, Pa3X, Pa4X, and styles from Korg Bonusware (vol1 to vol35).
Under development, the option to compare an Excel file exported from KORG_PA_STYLE_LISTER, without inserting anything into the database.
(The application is work in progress)

Be aware that the application only works on style names.

From what I have seen when comparing some instruments (PA800, PA1000, PA4X, Havian 30), you should be able to use program/bank numbers to identify style duplicates. Indeed, the name can sometimes change between 2 instruments but it is the same style and Korg has kept the same program/bank number for them.

Is time signature information of each style available anywhere? Does Korg make it available?
