Pa4X replace with Pa700 and SD90 ?

Post by the_boss81 »

Hello,
after we use a digital mixe (A&H Qu) I do not more use the TC Helicon on the Pa4X. So I think sometimes to change from Pa4X to Pa700 + Ketron SD90 (module).
The questions are - goes the midi files optimise on Pa4X on Pa700? I of course know, that it not can be exactly the same sound quality… the question is if all tracks will be played with correct voices - I mean guitars from Pa4X replace with guitars from Pa700 and not a. e. piano from Pa700?
The second question - the songbook I think of course cannot be imported to Pa700?
Thanks a lot in advance. :)

If you use the songbook from your pa4x in the direct folder setting, it will convert the Pa4x songbook to Pa700. Obviously styles from your pa4x won't exist on the Pa700 but you can load them in, and sounds that don't exist on the Pa700 from the Pa4x normally get replaced.

Sounds good... and how work pa700 as master keyboard? Can the internal module - if needed - be turned off? Thanks a lot :)

Be careful. I'm told by more than one user that SD90 still has some major bugs. You might want to investigate.

Unfortunately even Pa4X has some errors - fortunately rather minor.
Do SD9 and SD60 have similar bugs? Hardware or Sortware bugs? It's not new that Ketron is struggling with bugs, so I wanted to add the Pa700 - also as a reserve.
After your entry, I will certainly consider it again... thank you.

I have buy a Pa700. Optical we of course can see the price difference to Pa4X plus of course TC Helicon, better keys, build quality, sliders, dual player - but if we only comprare sounds and styles its nearly the same! So the Pa700 is in this price league super!

The audio drums by ketron styles are of course realistic and simply better than the ones at Korg. But the styles are monotonous, somehow without an idea. The Korg styles are much more musical. Maybe it's a matter of taste, but I don't think I'll keep ketron.
My Pa4 is already gone... Pa700 alone is a bit tight with only one player...
If I think I just take a Pa1000. I can hardly hear any difference between Pa700 and Pa4, so I can imagine that Pa1000 sounds just as good as Pa4X, has dual player, better keyboard than Pa700, pendrive in front. I don't need TC Helicon, slider etc. rather for the price difference...

Or only keep Pa700 until wait for Pa5 ;) ;)

I have a PA700 and in all honestly I have to say keep your PA4X

It is by far a much superior keyboard to the PA700.

It will be a retrograde step for you.

Thank you. And have you compared pa1000 with pa700 and/or pa1000?

I of course ask only about sound quality. Hardware diferences are clear - for some people very important, for me the question is only about the sound quality - thanks a lot :)

If you think PA4x has bugs, you don't want to get CLOSE to an Ketron SD9 or 90. Give it about a year to get stable.
They just recently got the SD7 and SD40 to where they are reliable.

As already written - I ordered SD90 - but I am happy that I can send it back. For the first time I didn't recognize any bugs. But I have to pass it openly - Korg is a much more interesting instrument for me. The Ketron Styles sound very powerful thanks to audio drums, but they are monotonous and little musical. Can be a matter of taste and depending on the application - but I immediately return to the Korg in stay there forever!

Now the question - Pa1000 sounds as good as Pa4X - better hardware at Pa4X is clear, but rather not important for me, thanks.

I bought a PA1000. It sounded good, but not nearly as good as the PA4X. I sold it as quickly as possible and returned to the PA4X.
