I've recorded tracks on 4 different midi channels in sequencer and want to save the song but the options are only to save a template song as in U01 etc but I don't want to do that just have the song as a saved song and not as a template for something else.
I must be in a different section because I have seen "write song" somewhere else but nothing here.

You're right. That function is in media mode: once you're done with your song, or songs, go to media mode then save seq (on the save tab) That would create a .sng file inside your sd card that contains all songs currently loaded when you hit save.
