Korg ES1 Smart Media Card

Hi, I know this issue has been discussed a few times on the forums, and I have been through all of them to try and find a solution but with no luck as yet, so thought I would post to see if anyone has a suggestion.

My issue is that whenever I try to use a Smart Media Card in my Korg ES-1, it comes up with the Er.7 message.

First time I tried the SMC I got this message, I then downloaded a file recovery thing which was recommended, to clear the SMC from my computer.

I then followed this method below using an XD card with an SMC adapter, and that came up with the same Er.7 message.

Does anyone have any further recommendations? Could this be an issue with the reader and should I try replacing it? Or could it be something more simple?
