midi import broken/dead tracks in kronos 2 sequencer

Post by epsilonradius »

Hi there, I have imported a midi file and mysteriously certain tracks wont play any instrument or record midi data, it is as if the track is locked. If I create a new song in the sequencer all the tracks play just fine.
To try and eliminate the bug I had saved the song to a new song name and renamed all the midi tracks the bug carried over to the new song file.

To reiterate:
1. The track program doesnt play any notes while the rest of the tracks do.
This happened on about 4 out of the 16 tracks seemingly randomly.
The tracks are not muted and have a standard piano program.

2. Recording to the track doesn't write any information to the track.

Any assist would be appreciated I didn't find this issue on the forums even though they are quite vast. I may have missed it though.

Thanks very much.

Open the MIDI file in a sequencer that let you see the MIDI event list and check for suspicious commands (volume, expression, bank and program changes, sysx, unknown controllers)

I don't believe ' midi import' is broken on Kronos.

There is all sorts of stuff in the Internet midi file that can cause havoc for playback. On any midi keyboard.

IOW, its all the custom sysex, cc commands that can't be translated. Unless you remove them.
