Best way to connect Volca Mix, Volca Beats, Monologue?

Post by WH3 »

So just setting up the midi sync should be easy enough, but I saw a video where someone plugged the Beats into the Monologue and then the filters could shape the sound? How do you do this? Ideally you would have this capability and set a master clock on the Volca Mix, any tips?

If you want the Monologue filters to shape the sound of the Beats, then you need to connect the Beats phone output to the Monologue audio in. For that you need a stereo audio cable and an adapter to go from a 1/8 inch connector to a 1/4 inch connector. The adapter can be stereo, or stereo to mono with a resistor circuit inside. You can connect the Volca Mix sync output to the Beats and from there to the Monologue, or the other way round from the Mix sync to the Monologue sync and from there to the Beats.

Downside of running the Beats audio through the Monologue is that the sound of the Beats only comes through the Monologue when you press a key or have a sequence of keys running.
