SQ1 midi clock out through USB

I was under the impression that I could use my sq1 as a converter for many midi>cv and viceversa applications.
If I have the sq1 tempo slaved to something else (volca mic in this case)through the sync in jack, the midi clock that comes out of the USB midi on the SQ1 is double the tempo going into the sq1.
Can this be fixed?
Am I doing something wrong?

In global settings there is a choice for sequence step resolution. Is that helpful in this case?
