I would not jump so soon to conclusion without any hard proofs. I had my doubt as well when I first saw but when looked a few times more in detail you can see that the graphics and the writing looks very profesional to be of a fake or an modified hack version OS. As well I don't think that Korg would approve an localised OS Next v4.0.0 on it with the date written 4 April 2020. Maybe I'm wrong but I'll hope its real and maybe finally Korg will fix and update user wishes on improvement of the Next OS.

Thank you Arsena.
Can you elaborate more please? If you know of course of the super good things that you mention above. Apart from the colours and the graphics I can live without them im more interested about the Ram slots memory and the user style Banks expansion...
It's a shame though if modifications exist that can make the OS better why Korg don't do the same :(

I undarstand you,r point BUT..... Hacking is not a god thing either, Korg is god or bad, it,s never a god thing to hack an OS ,
thats why they have UPD version now.
There is nothing We can do for the ram.
Some of the OS improvements are realy god, but it can be better if KORG makes that not my friend, Korg is korg, But who knows maybe Just maybe in the next level KB s we can have better things
My friend is a realy great programmer, in my opinion better than KORG,s programmers for OS,
First of all, its much better Color sheme, better letters, better background colors etc

Hmhmh OK this now makes sense because on the first video that I posted it really freak me out It looked very profesional but the last video of korg1 not that good however it's about time for Korg to catch up I think. I'm not really a fan of hacked versions but if it improves the OS than definitely I will give it a try.

Thank you together :)

These are only visual modifications...
It is not a localized OS it is just a modified version of current os.
It doesn't enable more ram or more sample slots. These are encrypted and nobody can change them except from korg or a very skilled reverse engineer person.
I doubt anybody with the required skills would sit down to crack the encryption just to add more slots or something like that and if he were to write more complex code (like DSP code for example) i doubt he would try to improve an OS that is not his own,he would most probably starting building his own keyboard.
We don't know anything about a newer official version for the pa4x yet which could improve some of the things we need but i m not expecting much for such an old keyboard..
I am not against modifying the OS but i m against sharing modified versions as there is always a risk that the person who modded it to have added a script which could render the keyboard unrecoverable* at first boot after installation.

*I really mean the word 'unrecoverable'. There is away somebody can make the buttons to not even respond so you will not be able even to get into update mode to restore it. So this means a new cpu board for the keyboard.

Hello again Asena.
Nothing in the executable itself has been upgraded (apart from info like version , date etc)
The only things that can be modified are linux scripts, images ,colors and text files.. that's all for now.
No userland executable files and no kernel hacks as of today (i m not interested in going that far anyway personally).

His use of Bugs Bunny could cost him a law suit!!!!!!
It certainly brightens up the boot process :D

(Actually, if this was distributed, it seriously would be a problem)

Surely if anything not official was or will get distributed in public it is seriously more than one problem...
First problem is that such action is ,i believe, illegal (not 100% sure if no korg proprietary code has been altered as the rest files are covered under GPL due to the system being linux.*)
Second problem is for the users as installing 3rd party firmware could really brick the cpu board of their instruments if the author wanted to (it can't happen at random as there are a lot of checks in the files to be sure nothing has not unintentionally got altered). And i have to say that a new cpu board is not cheap at all .

*Korg Italy is kinda in the illegal side in that matter too as they have never published the GPL code they use and the modifications they have done as they should have.. Korg japan on the other hand has done that for EK-50, i30 (new) and some other linux powered products (these are online on their github page)

Not going to get into more details about these hacks presented but i can assure anybody that these are only visual hacks (translation/color/images) and maybe 1-2 others that DO NOT require any modification to korg copyrighted executable files.

One more notice is that buy installing any non official firmware will most probably void the warranty of the keyboard as the keyboard keeps logs of anything installed and service centers have access to them.

Was just a light-hearted comment - but seriously, no-one should ever mess with Warner Bros and Disney copyright else this WOULD be a problem.

Aside:- Any innocent readers here - the video represents a hacked OS - don't ever consider trying one.

Take it easy
