I just found out that Florian Schneider, the founder of Kraftwerk, has died last week.
IMHO he was a great innovator and created a totally new musical genre with Kraftwerk. It was not for everyone, but albums like Autobahn, TEE, Man Machine, Computer World and Electric Cafe inspired many other musicians and bands for decades and are still inspirational even today.
Yesterday I decided to start designing a few Kronos programs for myself to emulate some famous Kraftwerk sounds. Also below is a nice little article about Florian.

Here you got it: Ambient, Trip Hop, Techno, Drum and Bass, Acid - and all happened in 1970. Those guys were approximately 20 years ahead of their time.
