Access to Extra Sounds Without Having to Load Them

Post by Reuben »

I know you are probably already aware that by using the midi capabilities of your keyboard you can easily play many other sounds. But I thought I would share my simple setup using an iPhone that gives you access to hundreds of sf2 sounds.
See Picture here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/179dFE- ... sp=sharing

To do this you need:
1) Apple USB3 Connector (Camera Connection Kit)
2) USB Cable (same as a printer cable)
3) bs-16i app (around eight bucks)
4) downloaded sf2 files

I route the sound from the iPhone into the Line Ins on the Korg. You then go the Global, Midi, and turn Local Control Off. (You may find you need to filter out some Midi Out parameters (particularly aftertouch) and save the Midi Set Up. See photo of my settings: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eQO0d- ... sp=sharing

If you use a laptop you don't need the bs-16i app - you can use instead the free sfz and sf2 player from Plogue called Sforzando (Windows and Mac).

Many free sf2 sounds are available from my site to get you started including a new piano called the Chateau Grand (sounds a lot like Elton John's piano)

Thanks for the information.
How can we upload SF2 into this app and what app are you using? Do you have any instructions or video for this?

The easiest way to load a sf2 to bs-16i iOS app is via your iCloud.
