Sequencer Merge on Tune1000 SMF Not Working
I wanted to insert 14 meas at the end of the chorus. I did the following:
I went to merge/all tracks/start and ending meas to copy/to all tracks meas #/execute. Then exit to main page and saved to existing midi. No luck,it seemed to have saved it fine, but didn't
Bernie
ps
The sequencer has performed flawlessly on the same midi's,like key changes, mutes, etc. I didn't want to use cut and insert as I want the origenal music inserted.

Re: Sequencer Merge on Tune1000 SMF Not Working
With sequencer use Song edit/Copy/Mode Overwrite (or Merge)/From Track "All" /Start Measure "nns"/End Measure "nne"/To Measure "nnt"/Repeat Time "1".Bernie9 wrote:.. I wanted to insert 14 meas at the end of the chorus ..
With Execute copy procedure will be done - then "save song" and your SMF from Measure "nnt" should contain measures "nns" to "nne" - operation only will be interrupted due incompatibilities of Time signatures in that measures.
kind regards

Bernie does the song have multiple time signatures somewhere within the midi (like a half-bar fill?)
Could it be a Digital Rights Management (DRM) issue? If it's a Tune1000 MIDI, is it somehow "protected" from edits, and does the Korg PA4X support this type of protection??
I don't know the answers to these questions, just speculating on your behalf. Let's see what others have to say!

Hi Bernie
I think you may be more successful with an external sequencer rather than the PA4X sequencer.
I am not 100% sure of this but I know that in the past (PA2X) the keyboard did not maintain all the original SMF details when saved.
I know that I lost the lyrics. Since then I have only used PA4X for new songs.
Cheers
Pete

Most free versions of the better DAW’s can do stuff as simple as this easily.
You can even get free tryouts on many of the TOTL ones at the moment, and Reaper has always had an unlimited tryout window for the full version.
You don’t even need a MIDI interface anymore with USB connectivity.
One thing that computer DAW’s make easy is tracking down why things don’t always work out the way you plan. Full list editors and piano roll editors usually make it easy to spot things compared to the tiny displays and limited functions on an arranger...

Walk before you run! Before you fire Sonor up to fix this problem, just like learning an instrument, do a few basic exercises first. Practice on small files, practice cut, copy, paste, saving files, formats, basic list editing, key roll editing etc..
That way, you will have the processes you need to fix the problem files under your fingers and won’t make the problem worse making rookie mistakes with the editing. You don’t write a symphony your first time composing! Make sure you have the DAW under control before you do something mission critical...
