Wavestate tempo light always on - presets not working

Got my Wavestate - it arrived in battered box - worked really well for two days but now the tempo light is always on and some presets not working??? e.g. presets that should have a sequence running don't? You just hear the first note.

Maybe I have a faulty one?

Does this occur when only the power, and audio outs or headphones are connected and everything else is disconnected? If yes then it may well be faulty. Are there any buttons stuck down?

Whoops, it was still set to external clock! all fine now.

Ahh yes, the old external clock curve ball :-) Good to know it's working OK.
