Korg opsix! Edit: it is released!
Haven't heard much of that one either (just like Kronos 3).
Not that I would be interested in buying one - having the Kronos and not even scratched the surface of MOD-7 - but just out of interest.

So there's obviously nothing known about the opsix? Maybe Korg is good in keeping leaks close to zero, that's why we don't hear anything about Kronos 3...

But Luke did say the OpSix seems as though it's in an advanced state and may be 12 to 18 months away...possibly not definitive.
As for the keyboard below the OP6 no way that could be a Kronos replacement it's too trimmed of controllers as Luke says.
Hopefully they revise the Oasys and give us an Oasys 2 plenty of synth physical controllers...that's what everyone wants...not menu diving...that sucks big time as bad as mouse clicking on a computer.
Give us the works and increase the price...stop taking short cuts! Big Screen too, nobody can see a 7" inch screen not even young folk...everyone will be wearing glasses because of the touch screen culture we live in.
Vas.

Thats right...within a week... Apparently. But the author of this article sounds pretty sure of it.

Wow...pretty detailed information on this site. But...at first glance it doesn't seem to present anything extraordinary new, should it be a Kronos successor!?

Maybe it's a Krome successor, replacing it...making space for Kronos 3?

That would make sense.
The Krome has been out for quite a while, and basically not received any refresh beyond a paintjob.
It sounds good, but it's basically an old-school, velocity-layered, two-OSC PCM rompler with modulation options. Its strongest feature is its sequencer, but its weakest is that it doesn't handle audio at all - it won't even render to .WAV the way a Kross will, can't do sampling, nothing like that.
In the day and age where you can get a potent thing like the MPC X for less than a Kronos, and the MPC One for less thank a Krome, the Krome looks a bit long in the tooth.
I could well imagine a Krome replacement, which either does more with synthesis, adds audio features, or perhaps doubles down on arrangement and sequencing features to be the studio master that the Krome can be, plus the next level.

I think it’s too expensive to be a Krome successor.BlackForest wrote:Maybe it's a Krome successor, replacing it...making space for Kronos 3?

At the moment there’s not enough info about the specifications to draw any definite conclusions; the pdf file in the music store mentioned in this thread looks like a copy from the Kronos specs, even referring to Kronos OS3.0.
