Triggering external synth using midi from Electribe 2S

Post by Matt1201 »

Hi,

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but I've had a look and can't find the answer.

I've managed to sync my Electribe 2S to a couple of external synths (a Behringer TD-3 and a Uno Drum). At this stage, I've just done one at a time with no daisy chaining.

When I start the Electribe 2S, the synth I've connected starts and syncs with the tempo of the Electribe. Wonderful.

However, I was wondering if it was possible to trigger the external device from the Electribe 2S, telling it when to start and when to stop from the Electribe. At the moment, the other device plays until I stop it on the device itself and then I can't start it again in a way which syncs without stopping and re-starting the Electribe.

I've seen videos and read threads where different devices are assigned to the pads of the Electribe using the pad number as the midi channel. So, I've tried setting the midi channel on the external synth to the number of an un-used pad but this makes no difference.

Any ideas would be most welcome!

Matt
