real time sound mode control

Post by supermaestro_67 »

Hello! question: with the 16 square pad buttons on the right activated on the function can we control the sounds of an external sound module? thank you very much.

Hi,

From the manual:

When the Pad Sampler function is operating, note-on/off data of the pad performance is transmitted if the Global/Media mode GMIDI>OUT page Pad Sampler setting Prog MIDIOut is checked
and SMP (PAD SAMPLER On/Off) is ON.

So in theory yes. In practice I think it has some severe limitations:
* You will need to mute or load empty samples so that they don't clash with your external sound module.
* The note numbers will probably something like: banknr*16 + padnr (to be confirmed) This is fine if it is to trigger samples at the external module, but less if you want them as notes of qn extrq keyboard. In the latter case you better look for splitting the keyboard.
* Probably there is no velocity info transmitted.

Have fun.
