Sustain Pedal problem

Post by Herwiberden »

As I have seen in many posts in the past, my original SV-1 sustain pedal is now only doing half-pedaling. Resetting the SV-1 to factory settings, calibrating the sustain pedal doesn't help at all.

I'm considering to buy a M-Audio SP-2. Would it work with the SV-1?

Or did anyone find any solutions for the sustain pedal problem?

Thanks!

Same Problem

Hi! I have the same problem. The original sustain pedal was a DS-2H. I bought a DS-1H damper because de DS-2H was no longer available at the store. The new pedal doesn't work either, it just does half-pedaling. Have you found a solution so far?

Try measuring the tip to sleeve resistance using a multimeter, with the pedal pressed fully down. It should probably be somewhere in the range 1000 to 3000 Ohms.

Thank you very much! I don't have a multimeter right now, but I'll definitely do it as soon as I get one. In the meanwhile I bought an "Alesis SP-2" Universal Sustain Pedal, it has a polarity-change switch, and it has been working perfectly so far.
