Power supply died. Replacement options?
So my power supply is dead. I get a blip of light when turning on then nothing. Guy who repaired my Kronos when the screen failed a few years back is now out of business. Found. A guy who does keyboard repairs and said he would repair this if it is something simple...he has confirmed PSU needs to be replaced, so I assume he knows what he is doing. No other authorized repair nearby.
There seem to be no PSUs available. Also looked up an ENO-1612 after looking through forums but cannot find one for sale either.
Anyone have other suggestions? I suspect I could replace the PSU if I had one. Not a rocket scientist but I have built a couple of desktops and replaced laptop parts before. Or if anyone knows someone in North Carolina who might do repairs and have parts?

You might want to check with this company. It’s a good place to start. https://www.partsisparts.net/

Here is the link toward powersupply : https://www.partsisparts.net/catalog/ko ... 0002190400Falcon2e wrote:You might want to check with this company. It’s a good place to start. https://www.partsisparts.net/
Here is another one, less expensive : https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/514771 ... d-kronos-2
I have looked at both of those sites already, and both say it is out of stock. Looking for other ideas in terms of either an alternative source for the OEM part (I have not found one through Google, eBay, Reverb, etc), or some non-OEM solution that someone may have discovered in terms of a laptop or desktop PC power supply that works and fits in the Kronos case.Liviou2004 wrote:Here is the link toward powersupply : https://www.partsisparts.net/catalog/ko ... 0002190400Falcon2e wrote:You might want to check with this company. I have done my homework and searched around for the OEM part and have found one suggestion in the forums for the ENO-1612, but none of these are readily available.
Check with Full Compass. They were very responsive when I inquired with them, and while the PS was out of stock they expected them to arrive within weeks at that time.
They did, and I got it shortly afterward. Certainly not instant gratification, but decent under today’s circumstances and the PS was the right part.

No problem, Fred. It's good to know where to get this part. About 12 years ago, the X-Stand supporting my OASYS collapsed. When it hit the floor, sparks shot out. The unit would not turn back on. It was the power supply. Thank goodness it was only that. I was able to get a generic repair company to order and replace it. No issues ever since. Scared the heck out of me though.

I’ve replaced my PSU with a SeaSonic similar to or exactly like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XW7FVJ2/
It has Japanese caps, cost half as much and will last longer and run quieter than the stock PSU. Only drawback is that you’ll need some basic DIY skills to craft a new power harness. But once you do that, subsequent PSU replacements should be a breeze.

It was a local shop down the street from me, in Las Vegas. I just tried searching, but I don't see it anymore. It was over a decade ago. Sorry. Average male's post might help you though.mkeschinger wrote: Can you pm the place you used to order a new one?

Thanks for the replies. The answer was to call Full Compass and ask. Rep told me just to buy it from them and they would get one from Korg, and I should receive it within 2 weeks. Came in about 10 days. They don't keep them in stock, but apparently are readily available.
Thankfully all is well and my Kronos is up and running again!
