Wavestate Native (VST) max size of User Sample Bank file

Post by dspogorelec »

The hardware Wavestate only allows up to 4 GB of multi-samples; can the VST version exceed this? If you start acquiring a number of third party "presets" products that include their own multi-samples, I assume the Korg Sample Builder can be used to compile them all into a single .korgcompiledbank file allocated to the VST. Over time after recompiling (as new products are added) this file could become large. Hopefully there is also no limit as to the max number of multi-samples allowed in the file. Today it is a pain to have to reassign a vendor's bank if you switch to their presets, hence the reason recompiling into a single bank. It would be nice if Korg could either develop a process to make adding new banks to a single file easier, or, allow allocation of multiple concurrent banks.

Yeah I'd love to know the answer to this.

The link below answers some of your questions about WS Native. Use of multiple simultaneous user sample banks since version 1.1.0. and the sample builder app does let you combine banks.

No need to compile them in the native version. Just keep them all in the same folder and point Wavestate Native to that folder.

True, but it is nice to have the "compiled into one file" option. I haven't needed\used it yet though. Just noticed there's a new version of the sample builder.
