I have seen people do this before. Is there a way in the Style Recording, in the Style Edit, in Style Copy, to copy from another style's variation to an intro in another style? For example from variation 1 of style to intro 1 of another.

Thanks

Re: Copying variations to intro
Simply try it and do it - select a style and use record style, delete intro that you want to replace, set its rec-len / cv-len to the newly intended parameters and copy a variation from another style to that intro and write the style as a user style for further processing.levischme wrote:I have seen people do this before ..

As soon you are familiar with Edit-functions of Pa-Arrangers you can do most things with events of style sequences which are repeatedly claimed to be impossible.
You can use different amount of bar and measurements within one style, you can shorten or lengthen some style elements of a style, you can create Halfbar-Fills, its possible to mix 3/4 and 4/4 in one style, you can shorten beginning of empty measur in Intros to be used as additional variations in full lengt etc.
The sequenced events of styles can be copied in many ways, but the style elements can still sound different because the sound depends on the different parameters used.

Delete the location where you want to create your new CV and initiate that empty element with its intended parameter CV-Len, Rec-Len and Meter.
Next fill your CV with recording events or copy from a CV from an element of the same or another style.
If CV should be cut to length after copying cut the length and correct CV-length manually.
Use "style element chord table" for setting trigger chord for CV.
Write the style with the CV you created.
Example: last two quarters of Intro1, CV1 from 8BeatStand1 (Intro1 RL=5, CV-Len=5, Meter = 4/4) should be copied to Count-Int, CV2 of 8BeatStand3.
- select style 8BeatStand3, select <Record> to edit current style 8BeatStand3
- select Count-In, CV2 - set Rec-Len and CV-Len to 5 (because you want copy a cv with a length of 5)
- use <Style> from record Menu and <Copy>
- select <From> 8BeatStand1, select from <E> I1-CV, select to <E> C1-CV2, select <From> and <To> All - <Execute>
- use <Style> from record Menu and <Cut>
- select <Start> 1 select <Len> 3 - <Execute>
- now Rec-Len in Menu style record automatically is changed to <2>, also set CV-Len manually to <2>
- select <Style> of style record menu and set trigger-chords (maybe dim, No3, No3 5) to CV2
- Write Style (8BeatStand3)
Now each time you start 8BeatStand3 with Count-In trigger-chords dim, No3 or No3_5 it will begin with same sequence of last two quarters of Intro1 from 8BeatStand1.
Of course it is also necessary to assign the same sounds to the tracks of the style element as from the copied source style if you want it to sound like this one.
In the example above, if you wanted to copy the first three quarters of Intro1 instead of the last two, you would have to specify the start as 3 and the length as 2 for the cut, and then set the Rec-Len and CV-Len parameters manually to 3 before writing the style.
kind regards
