EC5 Foot Control PA5X

Post by D575 »

Has the EC5 foot control been discontinued? I can not see a input on the PA5x and not showing on the website Accessories page the EC5 or New equivalent?

The EC5 is still available at retail stores in the U.S.

However, it appears this pedal can not be used on the new Pa5X, since the Pa5X does not have an EC5 port on the back.

EC5 - USB

Post by korgpask »

Hi, yes I can confirm, the EC5 connector is not in Pa5X. If KORG wants a possible solution via USB like many other MIDI controllers.

I'm very sad and worried about the missing EC5 port. Don't take this possibility away from us, or else find a solution through the usb port. Please.
I'm used to using this pedal since the pa2x. Please arrange possibility to use it again. If not, it doesn't make sense for me to buy the pa5x.
And please don't take away any more possibilities, which we are used to in previous versions. Like some possibilities that were unfortunately removed from pa3x to pa4x.
It makes no sense to upgrade the PA line and remove possibilities. In my opinion, the more possibilities a keyboard has, the better it is.

Yes we most definitely need a EC5 equivalent through USB (if design allows) or better still a exspanded version over what we have previously known....I can only think the reason we don't have one with PA5X is for financial reasons considering previous sales of the EC5's (of which I have no knowledge)

perhaps a later OS release will allow some sort of USB control pedal?

TBH, the EC5 was a bit restrictive on what you could actually do with it.

Agree...I would guess depending on how strong the feeling and feedback is to KORG about this will be dependant on a solution.

I have no problems with the missing EC5.
I only use Damper, 1-2 Footswitchs of EC5. So I can easy do the same with the existing Connectors.
