Here's a start-to-finish tutorial covering how to copy drum arpeggios into RPPR patterns and save them into a sequencer song:
1. Power on your Triton Extreme.
2. Press the PROGRAM button. Select a drum kit program you like from Category=Drum. Press any note to start the default arpeggio pattern. Audition different drum kit programs by simply selecting them from the touchscreen.
3. Press and hold both ENTER and REC/WRITE buttons as the shortcut to create a new sequencer song prepopulated with the selected drum kit program. Press REC/WRITE to stop metronome click precount. Press lower right tab "Preference". Set Precount Measure to 1.
4. Press MENU button and select P7:Arpeggiator. Select lower tab Setup 1-8. Check Arpeggiator Run A and uncheck Arpeggiator Run B. Select lower tab Arpegg. A. and set Gate=Step, Velocity=Step, Swing=000%. Check Latch. Uncheck Sort, Key Sync., and Keyboard.
5. Press Arpeggiator ON/OFF button to red (armed). Press any note on the keyboard to start arpeggio playback. Audition various patterns by selecting different Arpeggiator-A Setup Patterns. Drum arpeggio names start with "Dr-". When you find an arpeggio pattern you like and want to store as a pattern, press Arpeggiator ON/OFF button to off (unlit). Make a mental note of the Arpeggio number (e.g. U452) which will be used simply for RPPR pattern naming purposes in step 7.
6. Press EXIT button to return to main Sequencer page P0. Press Arpeggiator ON/OFF button to red (armed). Press LOCATE button (start of measure 1). Press REC/WRITE (red) then press START/STOP. WHILE THE PRECOUNT IS COUNTING DOWN, IMMEDIATELY PRESS ANY KEY (middle C is good). This will ensure the arpeggio starts and records at exactly the start of measure 1. It is not necessary to hold down that key, just tap it once during the precount. The arpeggio pattern will play and record into sequencer track 1. After 4 or more measures have recorded, press START/STOP. Press Arpeggiator ON/OFF button to OFF (unlit).
7. Press MENU button and select P6:Pattern/RPPR. Press lower tab Pattern Name. Select next available U## pattern slot (starting with U00 T PATTERN 00). Press Clear and type Arpeggio number (e.g. U452). Press OK. Set Pattern: to user U00 U452. Pull down from upper right "Pattern Parameter". Set Length to 4 and press ENTER. Press OK. Pull down from upper right "Get from track". Default values should be fine (e.g. Song 001, Track 01, Measure 001) Press OK.
8. Press lower tab RPPR Setup. Choose a key for RPPR for this pattern. I would start with C6 and increment to next higher note with each subsequent pattern. Press "KEY" touchscreen button. Then press and hold ENTER while pressing C6 on the keyboard. Click on the checkbox next to Assign. Set Pattern: to User U00: U452.
9. Press EXIT button to return to main Sequencer page P0. Click on the checkbox next to RPPR (if not already checked). Press and hold C6 to confirm the pattern and timing are correct (starts immediately upon pressing note). Check the other keys you previously assigned RPPR patterns to be sure they haven't been duplicated, overwritten, or left unassigned to a key.
10. Repeat steps 4-9 for each new arpeggio you want to store as an RPPR Pattern (substituting U00, PATTERN 00, U452, and C6 with next incremental or appropriate values.)
11. Press MEDIA button, press Save tab at bottom, pull down from top right "Save SEQ" and save your sequencer song containing your RPPR patterns to a SNG file.
