I know this has been covered before but my search results are leaving me empty handed. I want to add or replace hard drives in both my Kronos X and my Oasys. Do I need a PC to copy existing content/OS/libraries/etc. or can I do this onboard the synths? I assume SSDs are the way to go. Any insight on procedure, cautions, and hardware recomendations would be greatly appreciated. I would even be thankful for a link to previous discussions about this so as not to be redundant.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I am not sure this can apply for an Oasys but for a Kronos SSD update it works just fine. For a Kronos, the best approach is to clone the original SSD with Clonezilla and Gparted. They are easy to find online and totally free. Then you expand the partition on your new larger SSD and you can add lots more libraries, etc.
I followed the procedure given by Purgatory in the discussion below and it worked perfectly. You don't even need to reauthorize anything already on the original SSD if you follow the steps correctly. Others might suggest different methods but everything becomes more time consuming for nothing.
That's what I did for my Kronos 2 a few years ago, it now runs on a 250 GB Samsung 860 EVO. Zero problems as good quality, very reliable.

You will need a pc to do it as you need two pieces of software to clone and extend the drive partitions to the new larger drives. The same process will work for all korg/etc keyboards with any type of drives. So for your Oasys you can buy an SSD and replace the 3.5" hard drive in it, you will need a 2.5" to 3.5" drive converter to fit the 2.5" ssd back into the Oasys. Something like this :-
Sabrent 2.5 Inch to 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Kit (BK-HDDH)

Then follow my post that KK mentioned above.

Hey KK, hope you are doing well, I'm about just on and off on here catching up on the latest from Korg. Also my pleasure and happy to see it is still helping people and I noticed on Facebook and other forums they always seem to point to that post with how to clone the drive and add a larger drive as the main drive.KK wrote:Hey, hi Purgatory, long time no see ! And thank you again for your great procedure.
Keep well KK and hello to all still about.
