Lower voice plays after fade out
Select any keyset with a lower voice included
Set lower voice to OFF
Start any style
Play a few notes
Hit the FADE button and wait until flashing led stops
Now play some notes on the lower section
The voice assigned to lower now plays
There doesn't seem to be any way of stopping it unless you select another keyset.

The fade is designed to be used as an ending. Once it is done you are not supposed to be playing is the assumption until you want to start again, then you would want sounds available, or at least, I would.

Hi Foxtrotter
This is a bug (unless Korg have specified this in the PA5x manual!!!!)
This should not happen - not happened on any previous Korg Arranger model.
Whether you end a song with an ENDING or FADE-OUT none of your volume settings should change.
Hope this helps confirm the issue for you.
Perhaps you should report this in the bug report topic:-

Hi, don’t know if it would make any difference, but do you have split button on? Some of the sets turn the button off?
Mine doesn’t do what yours does.

Hmmmm interesting
Tried several combinations of settings but the FADE-OUT never changes any volume settings on my PA4x
I guess you've updated the OS?
Maybe not a bug if Rikki doesn't have the same problem - perhaps some other owners could try for you.

Hi, wondering whether we’re fully understanding the problem.
I chose a set set real strings dnc , has lower and upper strings.
Press split button to on.
Hold down l/h chord, press fade out. Remove hand. Everything stops.
But if I keep holding down l/h chord after pressing fade out, it fades out but , what time wise would be a few beats later, the l/h chord sound is back at original volume , then as soon as I lift hand, the sound stops.
( btw tried exactly same thing with my sx900, identical result.)
Just not getting a stuck sound. Works same with it without split.
The only time I get it sounding again is if I keep holding down the keys after it’s faded out.
Sorry probably totally misunderstood the problem.

Could it be you haven’t got split on? Just a thought. I’ve been caught with that when I change sound sets.Foxtrotter wrote:I understand what you are saying, but the point is I can't switch off the lower voice with the button. Even when the button led is off, the voice still sounds.
I'm new to Korg, so maybe I am misunderstanding something.

Hmmm
We may not be understanding - I am interpreting the problem as:-
Play a style with LOWER sound volume at "0", end the song with a FADE-OUT after which the LOWER now plays (has volume)
Did I get this wrong?

Hi Rikki and Pete. This opening post puzzled me too so I tried it on the 4X then looked my only thought up in the manual. This is what I read.
Playing a manual accompaniment (Bass & Lower Backing)
You can play a simple manual accompaniment, where the chord you play with your left hand is split between the Bass (chord root) and Lower (the remaining notes) Sounds.
Playing the manual accompaniment.
1 Be sure the Bass & Lower Backing function is active. When it is, the Backing icon appears in the Lower Sound’s area. If the icon does not appear, see below how to activate it.
2 Be sure the SPLIT indicator is turned on, and the automatic accompaniment is not running.
3 Play a chord sequence with your left hand. Notice how the chord root is played by the Bass Sound, while the remaining chord notes are played by the Lower Sound (even if it is muted).
Turning the Bass & Lower Backing function on or off.
1 Go to the Global > Mode Preferences > Style 2 page.
2 Select or deselect the Bass & Lower Backing checkbox to activate or deactivate the function.
Notice how the poster said it happened when the lower sound was off, by off I think he meant muted. That`s how it works as stated in line 3 above. (“even if it is muted”). If he stopped the style and played left hand keys he would hear the lower sound muted or not. I can`t think of anything else, not a bug. Assuming of course the Bass and Lower Backing function is on the Pa5X. Would think so.
That’s the best I can come up with. It would be nice to hear from others if and how they use the Base and lower Backing function. Take care.

Hi Taiche,
does say “start style”, though
but maybe was caused by some sort of setting.
I haven’t explored a lot of this stuff, mainly because if something doesn’t work as expected, hard to know if you’re doing something wrong, or it’s one of those rotten bugs.
For instance , I was going to try and and my Band in a Box software, to play the chords on my PA5x, ( sort of a fancy chord looper) ie type chords into biab, press play , PA5x plays accompaniment following the chords in BIAB.
Just for something to try again.
Problem is I don’t think chord in / chord out midi function is working on PA5x. Like I am 99% sure my settings are correct ( works in my sx900) , but , there’s that little chance I’ve got something set wrong .
Is it a bug , or is it me
. Not worth wasting time on just at the moment.
