Question about the Global Slider settings

Question about the Global Slider settings

I setup "Assign B" sliders in the Global menu to manipulate the VOX settings... filter, Umod, etc.
It's because I don't want to have to exit the lyrics screen to turn them on and off or adjust them.
In the Global menu I can see the sliders manipulating the filters but in Song Play mode they don't work even though I see the values change. What am I missing?
