Hello all, and thanks in advance

Hello all from Belfast, NI.

Just taken delivery of my new PA5X, and I have to say, I’m a little overwhelmed…my last keyboard is as old as the hills (Technics KN2000), so I clearly have plenty of learning to do.

I’m currently absorbing the Korg know-how videos as best as I can, along with tutorials from Keyboard academy and Qui Robinez etc.

Does anybody else have any resources I can draw on.

Thanks in advance, you’re all lovely, I’m sure.

Welcome Dave. You are looking in the right direction. I would also watch the Korg Utubes on the PA5x as well. they will give you a brief education on operation of the keyboard. Qui's page on Utube is a great resource as well that focuses a little more in depth on particular things. Have fun!

Welcome Dave & I hope you will enjoy exploring and playing this magnificent instrument. For basic tutorials I also highly recommend Paul Carman’s Keyboard Academy with some very good PA5X tutorials. See: www.youtube.com/@KeyboardAcademy-uk

Edit: sorry I missed that you already discovered that channel…

Hi Dave, congratulations. Wow, kn2000 and it was still working? Always knew those technics keyboards were tough. Loved mine and all the other kn’s I had over many years.

As for the Korg, work on the stuff that is important to you for your immediate needs, or it could be overwhelming.
It’s good to have an overview of what it is capable of, but probably the most important thing is to get you up and playing , and learning to back up and save data.

Even though I’ve had Korg arrangers for many years, still found some of the utube video’s very handy when I first bought the PA5x.
Can’t think of any other specific sites, than the ones mentioned.

Enjoy.

Best wishes

Welcome.

I suggest that you view the Korg Video Manual series a few times working along with Steve who presents the video’s.

Learning how to save Styles you want to customise to suit your songs in your repertoire into user banks and then to the Songbook would be a good start as would learning about Keyboard Sets and customising them to your own requirements would be a good start.
