Farewell to the Korg Forum: Embracing the EVM Ketron

Post by redfox »

Hello everyone, this is my last message on this forum. Today I sold my beloved Pa4X-76, which has been my companion for almost 9 years. With the proceeds from the sale, I purchased the ultra-light EVM Ketron, and I am very satisfied with it. The EVM weighs only 2 kilograms, and now going out to play is a breeze. Sure, it's not easy to change habits, but the Ketron has a series of conveniences for performers that I missed on the Korg: for example, the half-bar feature, the "TO END" button to close a song as quickly as possible, the ability to control tempo with chords, etc. Moreover, the support is amazing: I needed some information and one of the programmers replied to me!

The sound of the EVM is beautiful; it feels like having a live band. It's light-years away from the cold perfection of Yamaha, and a bit warmer than the Pa4X. As for the Pa5X, I wouldn't know. Maybe one day, when I no longer need to move equipment around, I'll get another 15kg keyboard (with a trolley and all). For now, I'm enjoying a super-light setup with truly surprising quality.

I will miss the free styles, of course, but the palette of those already available is very extensive and covers almost all of my repertoire—probably because EVM is made less than 100km from my home... :-)

I will especially miss all of you on the forum; it would be amazing to have such a great community on Ketron as well. Thank you for everything, and happy music to all of you.
