above error message came up when using system updater- Saw a post in this forum addressing this for wavestate. Suggested using USB boot utility, with a caution to be sure to select the correct device. Used Modwave I just purchased has version 1.1.0, which is not on the list of options in the USB boot utility app. So what now? I need to update the version so I can install and use the editor.
Thanks for any help. Phil

The relevant choices on USB boot utility are: Modwave (original) 1.1.3 and Modwave (original) 2.1.7 I hesitate because mine is on version 1.1.0 (neither 1.1.3 or 2.1.7) and the instructions warns "very careful to select the appropriate file for your instrument." It seems logical that choosing either version download will work, and the important part is that it's for the Modwave (original)- and the version doesn't matter. But I feel compelled to check with others to make sure. Thanks again for your time and expertise.

As I understand it from looking at Korg's help site, the boot utility is interested in whether the hardware is a MK I (original) or a MK II. I don't believe the current software version on your Modwave matters in this instance, so I'd suspect that either version option will work.
This is the link to the help site I mentioned: https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/a ... I-fix-this
And if you haven't done so already, you'll likely want to have a look through the Troubleshooting section of the updater guide found here: https://storage.korg.com/korgms/support ... ater_E.pdf Maybe you can get the normal updater to work with a bit of luck.
If it's of any interest, I recently updated from 1.1.0 straight to the latest 2.1.8 and had no issues with the updater using Windows 10. However, I did at first have an issue with a bad USB cable when I first tried to update and my PC wouldn't recognize the Modwave. After swapping the cable out for one that worked, everything went fine.
