Where is Version 1.4 ?
It was hyped during Namm in January and its almost April and still no sign of this firmware release. 3 Months of Unit testing or the Namm presentation was really smoke and mirrors. Its pretty outrageous.

Leave them alone for a while and concentrate, maybe there will be a good update??? Who knows!!!

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
A beta cycle can take weeks. Let Korg test it properly because if there are many bugs again, most Korg Pa5X users will be up in arms again

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
Korg needs to learn from Samsung on how to deliver software updates.
Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
I agree that I'd rather just see Korg take the time to get the 1.4 update right rather than push something out that will require yet another update to correct newly introduced bugs or omissions. But to me the far bigger source of frustration is Korg's mystifying refusal to communicate with its user base. Simply providing a few periodic (e.g. quarterly) brief updates on the status of operating system updates would do so much to assuage user frustration and anger. Case in point is the goodwill they generated back in January when they announced the plan for the 1.4 release. You would think they'd learn from that and provide an extremely simple followup. All it would take is a two sentence update along the lines of "We're hard at work on the 1.4 update and want to make sure we get it right before releasing it. We can't make any guarantees but we're hoping for a release sometime around [INSERT ETA HERE]."
Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
Having 6 -12 month releases is so OLD and Outdated methodology. The software industry has embraced SCRUM and AGILE methodologies whereby you can release customer requested features in a matter of weeks; fully tested and ready to go. The features come from a master list called a backlog and the Product Owner sets the Priority of the feature releases based on a combination of complexity and resource availability. Having frequent releases ensures the product is refreshed before it become obsolete and it is transparent to the customer who enjoys frequent new features.

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
Exactly. That is why I said earlier "learn from Samsung". I do not know how many of the folks here are from software development background, to understand the intricacies of SW development, but most people are familiar with "Samsung and their frequency of updates" Korg should also follow a similar method.kbrkr wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 1:29 pm Having 6 -12 month releases is so OLD and Outdated methodology. Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
I think they use SCRUM, but those upgrades such as 1.4 is big.
They have at least multiple Epics, and maybe higher in an initiative.
That will take a very long time to bring it to the market. Or maybe they have a small team that works on multiple things.
One way of the other, there will be a version 1.4 and hope they take the time to make it stable and feature rich.

Timu has had correspondence with Korg recently and they are wrapping up the release, BUT, Korg is asking for any outstanding bugs, freezes, issues with ANY part of the keyboard. You can find his post on FACEBOOK. https://www.facebook.com/groups/207058019634032.

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
While I'm waiting for the next update and I have a Home Assistant for my electrical stuff and other things, I created a script that checks the Korg update page every minute for the next update. This job will also notify on my phone when the new update is released. I think I have too much free time

That's a great utility!
