Calling up a style with a specific variation
Is it possible to save a Style in any way such that, for example, variation 3 will be selected as what will play when you first hit the Start button?

Re: Calling up a style with a specific variation
Hello,
this doesn't work with the Start button, but it does with selection of a style or a style-setting/style-performance.
After selection of a style-setting - that includes selecting a songbook entry with styles - the style begins with style-elements of your style setting you saved with style or sb-entry.
This is particularly advantageous for different songbook entries, allowing you to use a style with different style elements (var/fills/intros/break) or to start with or without looping the style-entry-element. It is not necessary to duplicate styles or to create separate user-styles, because start-with-style-element option is not saved in style - but separately in style-setting/-performance (called "Current style setting"), that can be activated also with selection of sb-entries or set-list.
It's a shame that it's no longer possible to switch styles by selecting Performances with "Style Change," as was possible with previous models. Otherwise, the Pa1000 would still allow you to switch style settings using keyboard sets!
Examples in testVar.set:
testbreakvar2: starts or go to a style with break and continues it with var2.
testend2var1: starts a style with ending2 and continues it with var1; in case selecting sb-entry during the style-player is running, changing the sb- entry the style ends with ending2 of the new style.
testfillvar4: starts or go to a style with fill1 and continues with var4 of the new style.
How to select fills other than those available via Autoselect I described in the thread "pa1000 fill"
(http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB3/ ... 90#p837390). It is also described how to loop the style elements Fill/Break/Ending. For example, if you want to loop/repeat that style elements before style changes to selected variation, a looped break, fill or ending, opens up a wide range of creative possibilities with style elements.
PS: Use Global>ModePreferences>DirectFolder>Browse to search unzipped testVar.set you copied to an USB, to test the three examples you will find in your songbook.
