MicroKontrol - mK version up mode?????

Post by stump da hump »

I have used my Microkontrol for a few years now and it has worked great but last night I went to us it (via usb connection) and the power would just flash. So I unplugged usb and plugged in power adpater - Samething happened power just flash. I tried to reinstal the driver through Windows XP sp 2 Device Manager and the Korg is showing up in some weird mode. The device shows as "mK version up mode" device . Anyway before I take apart this controller I wanted to make sure this is not something dumb.

Thanks

In case anyone is reading this - I took apart my microKontrol and one of the ribbon cables came completely unplugged. So dont through your comtroller down the street just yet. Go get a small phillips head and plug the cable back in. Word word word!

thankyou!

found this thread as top search result in google for "mK version up mode"

fixed it in about a minute.

unit was for a friend, ordered overseas, was feeling bad his controller didn't work on arrival.
after reading this i called the store and they said to have a go at fixing it.
and if i couldn't, they'd still fix/replace it, which was pretty cool

so yeh, this thread saved another postage ordeal.
