Gig Bag that fits the X50?

Post by jbresee »

Hey folks,

Have any of you found a gig bag that fits the X50 well?

I've seen 61 key bags that are too fat, but nothing that fits.

X50 Gig Bag

Try the ProTec C-930 from Finecases. It fits well, it's lightweight and it provides good storage for assesories. $45.00.

snug fit gig bag for x50

Post by X50newbuyer »

This is really important, 'cos a big bag defeats the point of having a small lightweight keyboard to take gigging. I bought a stagg case for it but this is too big..

had a look on finecases and the best fit it comes up with is Tuxedo TX6050 40" Lightweight Gig Case.

I'd be really interested to hear from anyone else who takes their X50 out gigging and has a good gig bag that fits well. Thanks

To me it is a Holy Grail of sorts. After decades of hauling keyboard gear, including various Hammonds, with the X-50 I FINALLY have a decent keyboard that will fit in...........
(drum roll please :D ).....

A guitar case!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More specifically the rectangular variety made for electric guitars and basses.
My old bass player gave me an old cheap one that I ripped the guitar formed padding out of and put in new foam and the X-50 fits in perfectly.
The cheaper cases are nice and lightweight like the X-50 itself but I am on the hunt for a Fender guiar case. Yes, a bit heavier, but better protection and damn sexy.
(The look on the guitar player's faces was priceless when I walked in with it and when I checked it in at the airport it was tagged as a weapon. TSA thought it was a rifle case. Good thing I didn't get the "camo" version of the X-50)

i ordered the Gator Cases GK-4212 and i really like it. Its a very nice case that will protect my keyboard well.

I like the fact that it is a little bigger than the keyboard so i dont have to unplug the power supply. Im afraid too much unpluggin and plugin could wear it out.

I've got two X-50s, and use a slightly-too large soft case
(lightweight) with some additional foam padding, and it
works great. The one I use for gigs is large enough that
the gigbag for my other live board (a Nord Electro) fits
inside perfectly. Perhaps not the ideal solution for everyone,
but it works for me.

Sure wish some of these manufacturers who make non-standard
sized keyboard and amps were willing to make cases / covers
available for them, though!

I ordered a crafted-for-size lightweight gigbag for roughly 20E. Worked like a charm while I had the synth:)

i'm afraid of leaving power cords connected while keyboards are in their cases...
what if it snaps off or is bent out of shape?

but thats me
and it would depend on the sort of case you have

Ditto on being nervous about leaving the power supply plugged in.
The weakest link on this board is that dodgy power jack. Way
safer to pack a spare power supply and not stress the input
jack itself, IMHO.

Not quite sure why microX is included in this thread title as it comes with its own hard-case. But if anyone is interested, I bought a Gator bag for my Line6 KB37 which would easily swallow a microX.

When I called Kraft.com, they said Kaces 7KB Xpress Series Keyboard Bag fits the Korg X50 the best. I just received it, and it fits well. The keyboard is super thin though, so there is a little bit of room. Kraft had great customer service, and the shipping will be free because the bag is over $49, but it's cheaper than the other bags I saw online.
