Librarian software can't find Microkontrol on MacBook
Hello Fellow Korgites,
I have an intel MacBook and the microkontrol, but the librarian software can't find the microkontrol. In the audio/midi set-up for the MacBook, there are only midi in and midi out showing up - not the 5 channels that should be there.
All the ports show up in Ableton Live and seem to work fine - but the editor can't find it.
Any ideas?
Thanks a million,
dustspec

Re: Librarian software can't find Microkontrol on MacBook
Hi I have the same problems as you do
I open the preferences in the library and put MIDI in por A
now he can transmit, but still if I push find he cant find it
I been trying to use it with reason and just read in channel 10
MacBook pro 2.16, Novation X-station, Alesis Photon X25, microkontrol

I have found the same failure of the librarian software to find my microKONTROL from the preferences.
If I set the preference to MIDI In on Port A to MIDI Out on CTRL, the software can recieve and transmit data to the microKONTROL

From my reading of the microKONTROL manual the output of audio MIDI is correct.
The two ports in the diagram interface are the MIDI ports in the back panel of the microKONTROL.
Port A & B and CTRL are internal only
(they are only for signals to or from the microKONTROL—not relayed to the MIDI ports on the back).
PS. ~if support is being got by telephone it might be a real nice idea to reproduce that support in forums, everyone wins.

Here's the kicker...
My Kontrol 49 sends midi.
I can't use the librarian to update the patches.
I have a lot of NI plugins which I want to use the controller natively. However, I can update the keyboard.
The app always tells me its not connected, howver it is.
The application doesn't see it. My computer does.

this totally fixed my padkontrol problem in windows. my kontrol 49 has worked fine previous to this.dananimal wrote:I have found the same failure of the librarian software to find my microKONTROL from the preferences.

Dananimal is right. You need to make sure that the Librarian software has the right MIDI in / out set (Port A In, CTRL out).
The librarian software will auto detect these settings (on OS X at least), but only if the controller you are trying to manage is the only MIDI device connected.
Hope you guys get it working.
