How to check if CD Drive is working

Hi guys. I've just bought a Triton 76 key studio. I'm trying to have a go at the sampling feature and after going through the manuals, I dont think that my CD Drive is working. This is because, whenever I go through the intruction steps and get to a part where it involves selecting the CD Drive for something, theat particular option is always greyed-out. Now, I'm not sure whether it might be due to the wrong setting up of inputs/outputs or whether the CD Drive is damaged.

Can someone please assist in explaining how I can carry out a simple test just to verify that the CD Drive is actually working?
