New Piano Sounds (Title edited see post Page 2 toward end)
(XX This is an old posting... see update on Page 2 of this (October 2011) XX)
I have 4 new Piano Sound Sets available for all those interested in pianos.
The sets range in size from Zero Ram right up to 27mb depending on how much Ram you have available or if you want quick loading times.
All sets have a new modified EURO PIANO which is probably the best piano on the expansion board but (surprisingly) doesn't use expansion board sounds but a nice remix of the Factory Grand. I have modified it further with a bit more expression using 12 ocillators and a new amp envelope.
Here are the sets:
1) Euro Piano (Zero Ram)
6 pianos - has 4 versions of the Euro Pianos plus new versions of the Grand and Classic
http://rapidshare.com/files/62164695/Eu ... T.rar.html
2) Euro Pianos RX (only 2.5mb)
This is a must-have set if you want interesting pianos but quick loading times!
Has 8 Pianos including RX versions (Pedal Resonance and Key Release Noises) of Euro and Classic
The RX sounds were stripped from the Korg RX Piano.
http://rapidshare.com/files/62164431/Eu ... T.rar.html
3) Grand Touch & Euros RX (15mb)
Has more expressive versions of Korg Grand Touch and RX effects on these and on the Euro Pianos - 16 pianos in all
http://rapidshare.com/files/62163940/Gr ... T.rar.html
4) Steinway & Grand Touch & Euros RX (27mb)
This is the big one - all the above plus Alex's really nice Steinway piano
24 pianos in all.

Once you select your link go to the free download option and type in the code supplied by the site to start your download.
Files are compressed in WinRar format and need to be extracted. Then copy the extracted .set folder to your harddrive. (WinRar is available as a free download if you don't have it.)
The sounds will load to User 1 Sounds (they won't change any Styles or Global settings).
Backup you current set or do a full resource backup before loading your new .set file.
Enjoy,
John

Excellent!
Thanks for your work Reuben - MUCH appreciated.
I've downloaded the first one because I have no Ram with the Elite (at least I don't believe I have...lol).
A soon as I work out how the hell to get it in the PA1X succesfully I'll give some feeback to anyone who's interested.
Can't tell I am a begginner can we???

Just pretend I've written something funny, yet wise and ironic here...

To check your Ram go to Sound Mode, Record button, Sampling Info Tab, and check available memory. (To exit use drop down menu and Exit from Record). If you need to buy some Ram buy the 16mb modules for $15 US from this site:

I got mine from here and it arrived in just a few days.
Best,
John

Some great sounds in here.
As one who has not the skill or technical expertise to achieve this,
I am very grateful to those who can, so thanks Alex and Reuben!
My problem comes however with the fact that there are other sounds out there that I also like to have at my fingertips.
Would I be right in assuming that some of the other piano sounds in the RX set could be added to the banks without encroaching on the remaining 5MB?
I also must have Sharp's Golden Trumpets on board, but I don't know how much memory those two take! The learning curve begins again!

Hi calaf,
If you have set 3 or 4 loaded then loading any Piano from Korgs original Grand Touch RX set will not require any more Ram. You would go to Disk, Load Tab, Choose Korgs set, Open, Sound, Open, User 1, Open, Select a sound and Load to an Empty User Sound location of your choice.
If you don't know how big Sharps Golden Trumpet set is then have it loaded and check out the available memory in Sound mode. But make sure this is the only set loaded - its easy to leave older PCM data loaded and taking up memory without realising it. To clear your Ram go to Sound Mode, Record, Drop down Menu, Delete, All Samples, OK, Drop down Menu, Exit from Record, Then go back and load whatever set you wish to check out. If you don't save your new "clean set" the old PCM data will load again when you turn your keyboard off and on if you havn't unticked Auto Load under Disk, Preferences.
I hope this makes sense because I'm getting a little confused myself

Thanks for the additional information, Reuben. Having loaded set 4, I tried to add the Trumpets, but this led to the little red box telling me insufficient memory.
When I get to my next "playtime" I will have a go to do as you suggest, but I have a feeling that even with set 3 I am going to have some trouble getting those trumpets added.
The learning curve on this keyboard is always going to be there for me I think. Better managing the sounds with the RAM available presents is my next challenge,
so I really appreciate the help, advice and support!

If you have 32mb Ram you'll definitely fit set 3 plus Golden Trumpet (see Sharp's post http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... en+trumpet) with about 9mb to spare. If you prefer Steinway along with Sharps Golden Trumpet this would be possible also but would need to be selective in which sounds from set 4 you load - just dont choose anything with Grand Tch in its name. You can safely load Steinway and Steinway RX's, Euros, Euro RX;s (this will only come to about 14.5mb). Clear you Ram before trying any of this and save the newly made set.
Best,
John

Rapidshare is a pain in the a...
I use http://www.steekr.com/ which gives you 1Gb, is free, and doesn't restrict downloads from others trying to force you to subscribe to their service.
Thanks for the files.
