Bug using help in 1.3 (Update Message for 1.3.1)

Post by sebbytriton »

Hi all,

Got a bug this afternoon, I was using the builtin help on OASYS about Waveshaper and got this message at the top of the screen.
reopen stdin fails - errno 0
Assertion failed in module Heap.cpp, line 530.
I remember there had some similar problem in 1.1 or 1.2 (first release).
This problem was corrected in next minor upgrade (1.1.1 or 1.2.1).

Someone got this problem with 1.3 ?

It might be easier to confirm if we knew what parts of the help system you were browsing through before the error...

Brandon, it was using help about Waveshaper (screen 5-4c).
I took a photo of the screen at this moment, if you want it, give me your email, I'll send it to you :)

Just a question, why the parts of the help is important ?

We were never able to reproduce this under 1.3. It looks like other users in this thread tried to reproduce it, also, but found no problem. I just tried it on 1.3.1, and it seemed to look fine.

My OASYS is in repair shop (you know my history !!) and I would like to know what can I tell to the technician to be sure this problem disappear after his actions. This unstability is not a good sign

SAME bug in 2013 on version 1.3.3

Post by danieliversen »

Can anyone at all help or point me to help? I have this error:
reopen stdin fails-errno 0 Assertion failed in module Heap.cpp, line

In line 515 and 530.

Nobody seems to understand what to do and Korg seems unable or unwilling to help.

I am SO bummed and desperate to get my board up and running. Having it freeze after 2 minutes REALLY interrupts the creative process.

I'm sorry that you're having difficulties. I'm sure that your national Korg Distributor will be able to help. Where do you live, and who have you contacted?

Oasys Errors

Post by danieliversen »

-I have contacted the store where I bought it.

-I've called Korg. They directed me to a repair shop here
in Portland, Oregon.

-I took it to the repair shop. They were unable to hel[/list]p.
They called people they knew at Korg and Roland even...nothing.

Surely somebody somewhere knows someone who worked on the
coding of the Oasys or the OS and can tell me what that specific
error means. And how to fix it.

At this point my Oasys is basically unusable. It freezes with that
error code showing after just a minute or two of use.

Oasys Error Still unfixed

Post by danieliversen »

Is there anyone out there at all who knows how to fix the reopen stdin fails_errno 0 assertion failed in module Heap.cpp, line 530 error? Surely somebody knows someone who knows what the error IS? I'm completely up to date on OS etc. but the error still happens.
