Digital Performer won't list Legacy as Soft synth

Post by Stevene »

Hello all.

This is a most infuriating problem. I can use the legacy as a stand alone no problem. However, when using DP it will not list the M1 or Wavestation or the effects. I have called the MOTU guys who tell me its a KORG question and I have called KORG who have told me its a MOTU problem.

To be honest, I think its a Korg problem because DP has recognised an earlier version of the legacy that I have used. (not intel mac though). Oh Yeah, I use a macbook pro., the latest 2.4GHz one.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks in advance

Are you using the latest versions of the Korg synths (ie make sure they are Universal Binary versions).

Next, make sure you have the AU components files installed.

You are running a UB version of DP on your Intel Mac I presume, and not running and older PPC version of DP under Rosetta?

hi

Thanks ben. I believe that I do have all the new versions of the respective software.

Shouldn't AU stuff be loaded with the software installs in any case??

thanks again.

By the way. I have listened to some of your sounds that seem to be on the web. Very good and thanks again.

Did you ever find the workaround for this problem Stevene? I have come across the same problem with DP 6.02 on an Intel Mac!! Any info you have would be great.

Which LC are you using? If you're using DE, the most recent version is 1.3.1 and KLC-AE07 the most recent version is 1.2.2. If you're using KLC-1, the most recent version required for IntelMac compatibility is 1.2.2 (including a Syncrosoft key). Try using the uninstaller included in the your most recent download to uninstall any previous install, then run the installer and restart your computer. If the plug-ins still don't show up in DP, it sounds like you may have to clean out your AU cache.
This file is located here:

"User Folder"/Library/Preferences/Digital Performer/

The file is named Audio Unit Info Cache. Trash this file. Next time you restart DP it should rebuild it's AU list and pick up your LC titles.
If this still doesn't work, contact your local Korg distributor for support:

DP doesn't recognize the M1 in legacy collection

Post by SolarCity »

I am going thru the exact same issue right now with legacy Collection. But what is unusual is that Wavestation is showing up in DP but the M1 is NOT. They both, however, show up in AU lab. I've tried un installing and re installing a number of times and still DP does not recognize the poor M1.
