Syncing a CD player to Extreme...HELP!!!

Post by kabuchi »

Hi all

here is what i want to do, in practicing with a CD in a CD player, I have the CD player connected to the extreme A/D inputs so I listen to the CD player through the Headphones output of the Extreme

Is there a way to sync the extreme to the Cd player's tempo? would be nice if u r trying to record a song on the extreme while listening and syncing to the CD player?

I suppose that can't work...then what program on the PC can I use to do that if any...preferably free

hope I'm clear

thanx

Well, I would try somewhat raw approach:

try engaging metronome and tune it until you sync metronome speed with song tempo, just depend on what you hear, you should get it precise enough.

What are you trying to do, sample that song and something you play along, or just something you play along?

Both ways, this would be the simplest option.

Relating to PC, I think you should convert that song to some format that could trigger Extreme's sequencer (with software that would allow you that) and that would be syncing.
Lot of work, IMO.
