Difference between slide volume control and volume pedal?

Does one over ride the other? I always use the pedal because, well, my hands are busy - lol! How should I set the slide control on the keyboard when I use the pedal? Can someone help me understand the difference between the two?

Master Cindin, i am unable to get my expression pedal to influence the master volume or the volume of a specific timber on my Triton. How do you do it?

I plugged my Expression pedal into the Assignable jack and went to the global settings to assing this Assignable pedal to "Master Volume" - this did not work so i tried "Volume" and this too did not work.

Either my pedal is not Korg compatible or i am missing a step.

Can you enlighten me? Baby steps please.
