Possible to dump factory settings to the rack via midi??

Post by belmontdrew »

I have tried over and over re-downloading the file from korg's website to my desktop, then dragging it onto a floppy...tried various new floppies...when I follow the instructions on how to reload the factory sounds/settings via floppy on the rack's disk drive it gets going and then every time says there is an error with the disk drive or disk.

Is it possible to get this file onto the Triton rack by dumping it from a computer via midi?? Or should I figure out a way to get some official korg disks?

No, there's no way for you to do this if you haven't already saved the factory presets etc. as sysex to your computer. However, if you have done this, you can use your sysex librarian to send the data back to the unit from your computer.

In the absence of sysex, though, you have no choice but to use floppies. The Triton-Rack and the Karma are both notoriously picky about floppies. Your best bet is to format brand new ones on the synth rather than on your computer.

Good luck with it!

Kind regards.
