One standard User DK to be shared by all Afghan musicians

Post by sehasafade12 »

Salam to all Afghan musicians:

As we all by this time have a combination of 5 sets:

1- Qader jan's set
2- Zabi jan's set
3- Masi Jan's set
4- Farhad jan's set
5- My set

Here is the problem:

Each set has its own User DK and User1 and User2 Drum/Perc kits. In order for these sets to work properly we must have each style mapped to the correct Drum/Perc kit. As we all know this is a long and hectic process but not impossible. We could just load each set by it self as whole and this way, the styles will sound fine. But most of us only need a few styles from each set and rather have these sets combined and just load the styles that we use and like the most and also save memory and space at the same time.

Here is an IDEA:

We should all have ONE MAIN or should I say ONE STANDARD sound folder containing: User DK and User01 and 02 Drum/Perc kits that everyone should have and use. This way when ever any of us make a style, all we have to do is to send that style by it self and no need to send the UserDK.PCG folder because it will be made from the same Drum/Perc kits that we all will have on our Pa800.

This is what I have done in the past 3 days:

1- For each set I have started with a fresh OS 1.5.1 and Res 1.50 and just load that particular set by itself as whole.

2_ See how each styles of these particular sets are mapped to the User DK and User 01,02 Drum/Perc kits. I wrote the styles name and the name of the Drum and Perc kits that they were mapped to. Believe me this is a long process and very annoying but I think the end result will be worthwhile. Once all of the styles are mapped to the correct durm kits than I will save the SOUND folder on my computer or on my USB card and if anyone wanted it than I will send them the UserDK.PCG folder.

I just suggesting this and hope you guys do not mind me saying this but it will not hurt to try. I do need your feed back.

Best Regards,

Fahim, :D

Fahim Aziz: I understood all the steps except the last part that is saving the sounds. How do you do that and save it as a sound ?. This is what I was going to do for my styles during next few month. One more thing, why do you need to reload the fresh OS 1.5.1 and Res 1.50 each time before loading one of your set? Then, what if there are conflicts? I'll call you once I have done the initial steps.

Salam Arash jan:
Hope you and your family are in the best of health. The steps on how to save the sounds are not hard but hard to explain in writing. For me, it is a lot easier to be by my keyboard and explain it via phone. The reason why I restart from fresh OS/Res to load a new set is that I really want to start with a blank(completely empty) User and Favorite area and also nothing in the drum kits area. This way, I can go directly to styles and also to the their mapped drum kits. This is just my way of doing it and I do not recommend for anyone to do it because it takes a long time and very hectic and annoying. We will talk via phone soon INSHALLA.

Best Regards,

Fahim, :D
