new PA800 owner...

Post by moontom »

really appreciated the insights on this forum as I was deciding to leave yamaha arrangers for the PA800. from a sound standpoint it was an easy decision -- wow, what great sound programming Korg did on this machine! much warmer and more expressive than the workstation line! incredible!

my only problem is in styles --- I tried to convert a few Yamaha standbys (ComboSamba, Brazilian Samba, etc) via EMC software on the korgpa site, and came up w/ only lackluster results....anyone have a better method (ideally that doesn't involve editing tons of midi data)

thanks!

Hi, Tom,

As far as I know, the PA800 isn't in Style Works yet.
Convert it to thePA1X, load it into your PA800,
and with a litle tweaking you will get there.

Hi Tom,
basically I do mine midi to style. Does involve more work than using EMC.

Unfortunately we're heading off for the xmas holidays in a day or so. I'm expecting my EMC PA800 upgrade anytime now, but may not get it before we go.
If you give me a list of the styles you're trying to convert, I'll run them thru for you & see if the new emc version does a better job. They always do require some editing though.
May not happen till we get back (just before new year).

Regretably I wouldn't have the time to do them midi to style.
